Bio

The Versonder Collective was started by a queer couple living in San Francisco with their cat and mascot, Ophelia. The name Versonder is a cross between verso, which refers to the left-hand page of a publication (like a zine!), and sonder, which refers to the feeling of vivid realization that each person around you has a complex inner life and narrative interconnected with countless others. We make art that is fun, whimsical, and full of wonder and joy. Our art, both in its expression and through its creation, reflects our values — community, radical love, and liberatory politics.

Zines

Cats for Queer Liberation and Other Animal Friends, $5 - A hot pink eight-page mini-zine (2.75 x 4.25) with a stylized illustration of a cat on the front cover. Each page contains a different animal friend affirming liberatory concepts including mutual aid, carceral abolition, and trans joy. Purchase here.

Candle Zine, $5 - An eight-page mini-zine (2.75 x 4.25) with colorful illustrations of a variety of candles on a white background. It is a creative imagining of possible, though improbable, candles that get more and more whimsical as they progress from cranky candles to teapot candles with diamonds and teeth. Purchase here.

Complete Unabridged Memory Collection Description, $5 - A collage eight-page mini-zine (2.75 x 4.25) on a vibrant red background. This is a perzine about the artist's experience building community and finding their identity as an activist during college and early adulthood. Purchase here.

Flowers That Are Toxic to Cats, $5 - A bright yellow eight-page mini-zine (2.75 x 4.25) with various illustrations of cats and flowers inspired by the artist's own desire to keep their cat safe and healthy. It contains a QR code with a comprehensive list of flowers that are safe and toxic for cats as well as those listed and illustrated within the zine itself. It is an aesthetically pleasing resource for cat parents and all friends of cats. Purchase here.

Spring Zine(-ing), $5 - A pale pink eight-page mini-zine (2.75 x 4.25) with various colorful drawings of springtime nature scenes and peaceful interior moments. This zine is about rest, renewal, nostalgia, the natural world, connecting with oneself and one's community through small moments, and the hope that spring brings. Purchase here.
