Bio

I'm Lydia, also known as artfulyds, and I'm an artist and zinester based in Northern California! I absolutely love the zine medium as I find it so accessible since anyone can make one about anything. I find zine making to be an important way to express myself whether it be through silly stories or serious topics. The DIY aspect of making zines is also appealing and I always appreciate the tactile feeling of flipping through pages.

The Quest to Find the Missing Hat, $7.00 - A 16 page (including covers) staple bound zine in a6 size that comes in five different color options. This is a game based zine with elements of rpg and choose your own adventure stories where you play as a wizard's apprentice who goes on a journey to find the wizard's missing hat. It's a very lighthearted journey that can be played solo or adapted to a group! Purchase here.

mixed kid, $4.00 - Folded mini zine (8 pages including covers) that shares some of my experiences growing up biracial and feeling unsure how to identify myself. Purchase here.

mirrored, $8.00 - 16 page (including covers) staple bound a5 sized collaborative zine where two artists responded to each other with words and pictures about our creative process. My responses and photos are on the left side while my collaborator, Speer, has their responses and photos on the right side. Purchase here.

Am I Doing Enough?, $7 - 16 page (including covers) staple bound vertical zine where I explore the push and pull of "am I lazy or mentally ill?" alongside some retrospection. Includes a removable trigger warning for mention of SH and discussion of mental illness. Purchase here.

plots of horror movies (as told by someone who really doesn't watch horror), $4.00 - Folded mini zine (8 pages including covers) where I guessed the plots of famous horror movies based on what little information I knew about them. Certain movies are accompanied by small drawings. Purchase here.

meaningful music, $4.00 - Folded mini zine (8 pages including covers) in which I share songs that are emotionally significant to me, even if I don't listen to them anymore.
